Our History
Studio Santosuosso (the “Firm”) was founded in Rome by Daniele U. Santosuosso, Full Professor of Domestic and International Commercial Law at “Sapienza” University of Rome. It was inspired both from a long established family tradition, as Professor Santosuosso’s grandfather, Giovanni, was a lawyer since 1915, and his father, Fernando, lawyer at his father’s firm and afterwards judge up to the Italian Supreme Court and, lastly, judge in the Italian Constitutional Court, and also by the personal experience in the so called “Boutique Law Firms” and International Law Firms in which the founder has been a counsel.
Our Identity
The Firm established itself in the legal market within the narrow circle of law firms that combine tradition and academic background, on one side, and international organization and perspectives and constant care on the practical demands of the clients, on the other. The Firm has gained anenviable expertise and is highly reputed in commercial law, in particular corporate law. Such expertise was developed not only in the widest variety of resolved professional cases, but also thanks to Professor Santosuosso’s participation, as a member of the governmental commission, to the most important reform in the corporate area since the Italian Civil Code of 1942, the so- called “Vietti” reform of Italian corporate law (2003-2004), and to several publications in the corporate law area. The Firm regularly advises clients on the most sophisticated corporate issues, also providing assistance in a wide range of practice areas, including banking and finance, capital markets, bankruptcy and corporate restructuring, antitrust, intellectual and industrial property. The Firm also provides assistance of paramount level in the areas of administrative and civil litigation proceedings, before both national and international courts and arbitration panels.

The Firm’s primary goal is the promotion of excellence in client services, through a specialized and dedicated assistance, which is tailored for the client’s demands, with whom a completely personalized relationship is established, and directed to assuring his complete satisfaction, also with regard to costs – always estimated in advance – of the professional service.
Our Method and Professionals
To achieve such objectives, we are convinced that the professional service should be the result of the synergic activity of the team, composed by professionals who share a solid academic preparation and the interest of constantly updating their backgrounds, other than daily field- expertise in corporate litigation and most complex transactions. For such reason, all the lawyers of the Firm have earned, or are earning, a Ph.D. in Corporate Law, and have worked for the most prestigious Italian and International Law Firms, perfecting their academic and professional preparation abroad. In particular, Professor Santosuosso has held the position of visiting scholar at the University of Heidelberg, at the London Business School and the London School of Economics, and visiting professor at the University of California, Boalt Hall School of Law, Berkeley, where he, recently, dealt with capital markets, corporate governance and executive compensation.
Location
The firm is located in the wonderful setting of Piazza delle Muse in the neighborhood “Parioli”. Immersed in the green of one of the most exclusive and panoramic areas of Rome, the location of the Firm is also a short walk from the city center and all judicial offices.
